A flyover connecting two major highways opened on 30-August as part of the major revamp project to ease traffic congestion in the Southern Governorate. The Nuwaidrat flyover has opened in both directions, allowing traffic movement from Manama towards Askar, via Sitra and vice versa.
A section of a flyover at the Alba interchange, from Riffa towards Sitra and Manama has also opened.
The highway project is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year.
